One-Shot Boss

Zombie Shot:
-Approx. 2 oz. peach schnapps

Segment 1: Moments of Zen
Tess – I got to play for an hour this week! Got my neck to 25. WB didn’t have anything I needed so I didn’t roll and thus endeth the Tess WB drop run of madness. 7 items in 6 weeks was a killer run, though. I DLed Destiny 2 since it was free, but I doubt I’ll play it much.

Militus – My heroic feats in island expeditions and I went behind enemy lines and shared space with 4 dirty Horde for a Blizzcon watching party.

Boom -. I got to raid and get some new gear. I had surgery and was only able to raid the first little bit. I had a good time as always with the people.

I played a little bit of Destiny 2, was able to get the 600 Halloween event gun. So that was cool. I played some League of Legends because of Worlds. I really like that game as an eSport. And I also dipped my toes in some Heroes of the Storm and had more fun that I expected to with that game.

Blizzcon – The Great Diablo Caper of 2018 NERD RAGE! Is it right, is it wrong or is it just what it is?

Boom – I don’t think Blizzard is wrong and I don’t think the fans are wrong. I think Blizzard is doing what they think is best. They just happen to be becoming just like every other game company.

Everything below is just my ranting.
Dedicated to creating the most epic entertainment experiences…ever.
Blizzard Entertainment’s eight core values represent the principles and beliefs that have guided our company throughout the years. These values are reflected in employees’ decisions and actions every day.

Gameplay First:
Everything we do at Blizzard Entertainment is based on the success of the gaming experiences we provide our players. The goal of each discipline within the company — be it art, programming or customer support — is to make our games as fun as possible for as many people as we can reach.

***Not sure how the game will play. Maybe it will be amazing?

Commit to Quality:
“Blizzard polish” doesn’t just refer to our gameplay experiences, but to every aspect of our jobs. We approach each task carefully and seriously. We seek honest feedback and use it to improve the quality of our work. At the end of the day, most players won’t remember whether the game was late — only whether it was great.

***I am guessing they have some level of quality control around this game title. I think this is what is most in question.

Play Nice and Play Fair:
In our business first impressions are important — but lasting impressions are everything. We strive to maintain a high level of respect and integrity in all interactions with our players, colleagues, and business partners. The conduct of each Blizzard Entertainment employee, whether online or offline, can reflect on the entire company.

***The first impression was rough, so I predict the title will be delayed to make sure that it is amazing when it launches to make it a lasting impression.

Embrace your Inner Geek
Everyone here is a geek at heart. Cutting-edge technology, comic books, science fiction, top-end video cards, action figures with the kung-fu grip…. Whatever it is they’re passionate about, it matters that each employee embraces it! Their unique enthusiasm helps to shape the fun, creative culture that is Blizzard Entertainment.

***Geeks don’t just play on PC’s The world is mobile and as much as PC gamers might feel that they are superior, this is going to give an experience to an entire new world of gamer.

Everyone’s Voice Matters:
Great ideas can come from anywhere. Blizzard Entertainment is what it is today because of the voices of our players and of each member of the company. Every employee is encouraged to speak up, listen, be respectful of other opinions, and embrace criticism as just another avenue for great ideas.
No (But not all the voices were heard, only those of hardcore PC gamers):
***They deleted allegedly as many as 60k negative posts on youtube and thumbs down.
***They deleted the top negative comment repeatedly.

Think Globally:
Everywhere on the planet there are people who play Blizzard Entertainment games. While respecting the cultural diversity that makes people unique, we strive to grow and support our global gaming community. We also seek the most passionate, talented people in the world to enrich our company and help us forge the future vision of Blizzard Entertainment.

***I think this is to reach the title to more people around the world.

Lead Responsibly:
Our products and practices can affect not only our employees and players — but the industry at large. As one of the world’s leading game companies, we’re committed to making ethical decisions, always keeping our players in mind, and setting a strong example of professionalism and excellence at all times.
Probably Not:
****Removing comments and downvotes might be not ethical. PR damage control might be a little on the sketchy side.

Learn and Grow:
The games industry is ever-changing. Technology improves, techniques change, and design philosophies become outdated. Since the founding of Blizzard Entertainment, we’ve worked to improve through experience, teaching one another and cultivating the desire to be the best at what we do. We see this as an individual responsibility as well as a company one. Employees can count on their peers, managers, and the company itself to be supportive and help them gain the knowledge and training they need.
Yes:
****I think this is the main initiative of this move. They are adapting to an ever changing market.

My wife was even disappointed. Hahaha. This is like Apple having Dell make a computer for them to cover the lower budget market and having it still run windows OS and being like “You guys will love it”

Simple case of a Company blowing it with knowing their audience. If this isn’t announced at Blizzcon I don’t think it really gets much attention. This is a conference, a very expensive one, that is full of the hardest core fans of PC titles that built Blizzard. I think in their mind all of them own phones and this would be great for them, but it really isn’t. I am sure they will rush out a D4 announcement soon.

Why did they not just say “We have D4 in the works, but it isn’t ready yet?” They could have shown a logo and made all this rage go away.

As for the rage, Blizzard created this monster. When you are Apple or Blizzard, you create fans of your product that will follow you through the muck and mud. They really buy “WHY” you do what you do and not “What” you do. Fans of this company love them for their commitment to excellent home grown titles with unprecedented excellence. The move to announce a game made by another company, a Chinese company, that is just a reskinned version of a game they already built isn’t true to WHY Blizzard fans are super fans. THey are asking people to buy what they make, and that is just like every other game company. And they didn’t do this with a new franchise, they did it with one that people are passionate about.
As for the fans, they are hurt, and hurt people want revenge. They are not entitled to anything, this is a business. I hate the term entitlement being thrown around about a company. This is how companies are held in check. This is how they make good choices and don’t make the same mistakes. If Blizzard embraces the rage and moves forward they will have success. If they label the fams as “entitled or spoiled” they are officially just like every other game company out there. The special will be gone forever. The next era will be profit maximization and game quality will no longer be WHY they make games.
